About Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging
Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging are global leaders in advanced imaging solutions for the veterinary sector, supporting practices and specialists around the world. As the business has grown from a small UK‑based team into an international organisation with locations across North America, technology has played an increasingly important role in enabling collaboration, security and scalability. Reliable IT is essential to supporting both their internal teams and the customers who depend on their specialist systems.
The Challenges
When Hallmarq first began working with Zinq IT, the business was relatively small, with around 14 users, and IT support was handled on a more ad‑hoc basis. As the company received investment and began to scale, their requirements naturally became more complex. Growth brought new expectations around managed IT services, security, and compliance, particularly as the business expanded its development activity and customer footprint.
With this growth came the need for clearer processes, stronger cyber security, and better use of cloud technology. Early security concerns were identified, particularly around development workflows, and it became clear that informal or reactive IT support would no longer be sufficient. The business also
needed guidance rather than just fixes, visibility, structure
and a long‑term plan to support continued expansion.
As Hallmarq continued to grow internationally, supporting users across multiple locations introduced further complexity. Ensuring consistent access, security and performance for a global workforce required a more robust and scalable IT approach.

The Solutions
As Hallmarq’s business evolved, Zinq IT worked alongside them to ensure their IT environment could scale in step with their growth. What began as ad‑hoc support naturally transitioned into a fully managed, service tailored to Hallmarq’s needs, giving them consistency, visibility, and a clear support framework as their team expanded.
As Hallmarq strengthened its leadership team, the arrival of a new Chief Operations Officer brought a clear, IT‑forward approach and a desire to invest in technology as a business enabler. In response, we deepened our partnership further by introducing regular on‑site engineering support every fortnight for over 5 years, a service that continues today. This on‑site presence provides continuity, familiarity, and the ability to address issues proactively while building strong working relationships with the wider team.
Security has remained a key focus throughout Hallmarq’s growth. Zinq IT has supported the business with third‑party security reviews and penetration testing, helping ensure robust processes are in place as systems and development activity became more complex. As Hallmarq expanded internationally, we implemented a secure Azure environment to support users across the UK, Chicago, Boston, and Toronto, enabling consistent access, performance, and protection for a truly global workforce.
We supported the business through periods of change and focused on making better use of Microsoft 365, helping Hallmarq adopt tools such as SharePoint for collaboration, Intune for device management, and compliance policies to support Cyber Essentials requirements. Where certain workloads were not suitable for SharePoint, we maintained a hybrid approach, keeping a traditional server environment in place so both platforms could work together seamlessly. These changes helped create a more structured, secure, and manageable IT environment without disrupting day‑to‑day work.
